Why borrowing ETH against staked ETH is popular

Staked ETH moves with the price of ETH, so a loan of WETH against wstETH or weETH is hard to liquidate by a price move alone. E-Mode raises how much can be borrowed between such related assets. Some borrowers repeat the steps (supply, borrow WETH, stake it, supply again) to multiply their staking yield. That only pays while the staking yield is higher than the WETH borrow rate, and it fails if the staked token loses its peg.
